NOTW: "Rouge Fatal" - Chanel
This is probably the best nail polish.... ever. Well of my red nail polishes.
The picture above is after an entire week. Yeah. An entire week of life guarding, cooking, washing things, day care, swimming, school... and not a chip. There's slight ware at the edges but it's slight.
This is the most opaque creme finish polish I have. It's also very thick. So the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes are opaque but not overly thick, this one is thick so really 1 coat suffices, and you get a true, basically blood red with the 1 coat. This was 2 or 3 since I was experimenting with the polish.
The opaqueness makes the polish so wonderful too. There are plenty of red cremes out there. I have 5 or 6 myself. But they're all kind of sheer... there's almost a jelly like finish to most of them where as this one is full, thick and richly just a red.
The thing I was most amazed about was the quality of the nail polish itself. I wanted to test out all my base coats so each finger had a different base coat. Then I applied 2 or 3 coats on each finger (I say 2 or 3 because it was 2 regular coats and one baby coat) and then applied Seche Vite on top. I was excited to see which base coat was the best, but then nothing happened. A week went by and my nail polish was still all there. I guess that means that yes, those base coats are all great, but when you have a really high quality nail polish then it makes a huge difference.
Obviously, you'd expect all of this from a nail polish you pay $23 for. I mean, Paradoxal worked fantastically for me as well, just not as well as Rouge Fatal. And there have been some Chanel polishes (not that I've tried but read about) that don't live up to this one. And it really sucks to pay $23 for a really really good nail polish when you can go to Rescue Beauty Lounge for pretty much the same quality for $5 less. Or even some China Glaze, OPI, Essie etc polishes that range between $3 - $10. I just haven't been this in love with the nail polish and in every single characteristic of the polish before.
