NOTW: "Bubble Bath" by OPI

If you subscribe to me on YouTube, then you've probably heard me complain about this nail polish before. I might have even said I hated this polish. It has nothing to do with the color... I quite like the color actually. I think the soft almost marshmallow-y feel of the baby pink is classic and works for anybody. I just hate the polish itself.
I know it is just my bottle of it, because my mom has the same color and hers is nice and normal in terms of OPI formula. Mine is super watery and is very finicky. It takes a while to try and stays in it's tacky state forever. I feel like I have to get 5 or 6 coats of the stuff to get it a good color, and I have to work at an exact pace with it or else it'll be impossible to apply because it'll run or it'll stick together and create an uneven surface. Because mine is so runny, I feel like I have to use a lot of the product just in one sitting. Already this color has the most used out of it than any of my other nail polishes, and I've used it 3 times. The only other one that comes close is my Lincoln Park After Dark, which I'm ok with because I actually use that color all the time and I love it.
I successfully applied this once, which is this time, and the results were wonderful. The polish has been on for a couple of days with only a slight amount of tip wear. I have a coat of Seche Vite on top, like always. The color is perfect for work because it doesn't stand out and just looks clean. I think it will also look good on all skin tones.
Honestly, as long as you don't have my bottle (which you obviously don't...) you'll probably love this color and I do highly recommend it. I've only ever heard positive things about this from everybody else I've ever seen, heard or met that have used it.

FOTD: 8/31/10 and New Series/Update!

Preview for my new NHL series of tutorials... going to try and make all of the NHL teams colors/logos/jerseys or whatever wearable and fun :]

My flowers tutorials will be the more bold looks, and then the birthstone ones will be sort of in between. Female celebrities will be on-going and ranging from bold to neutral so I'm not going to focus on that one as much... and I'm not going to have a regular schedule for them... just sort of how I feel that day! (If I feel like bold makeup, it'll be flowers, if I feel like super frosty it'll be birthstones, if I feel like whatever is next on the NHL list that'll be it).
This is for the Atlanta Thrashers, and I already filmed Anaheim. 2 done, 28 to go!

Tutorial: Birthstone Series - #4, April "Diamonds"

This is the look I came up with for the April birthstone, diamonds. I could have gone with the sparkly eyes and the sparkly lip, but I decided to go for old hollywood glamour.
Why? Because whenever I think "Diamonds" I think Marilyn Monroe and "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend". I did put a little bit of a twist on it by adding a slight shimmer to the middle of the lid, and didn't keep it completely matte.
I was also inspired by a Chanel ad for their new Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss. It's probably my favorite ad of the year I've seen so far. It's stunning...
Anyways, here is the tutorial, and all the products mentioned in the video!

FOTD: 8/24/10

It's been quite a while since I've done a FOTD and I liked how this one turned out and how fall appropriate it is (even though it's still August and like A MILLION DEGREES outside...)
This was the makeup I wore today... it was inspired by Kat Von D's new red hair look for her 2010 fall ad campaign (I'm guessing) and the look for her new eye shadow palette Adora (which will be reviewed soon).

NOTW: OPI "Lincoln Park After Dark"

This was the color I had on for my birthday on monday. It's probably my favorite of the OPI colors, the famous "Lincoln Park After Dark".

Project: NOTW

So... new season, new project?

NOTW: China Glaze "Ruby Pumps"

This is probably one of the prettiest nail polishes I have. Along with "Emerald Sparkle" by China Glaze (which is just the dark green version of this).
It's definitely a dupe for OPI's "Smitten With Mittens" which came out in their Christmas Collection last year. Although there are definitely differences between the two, mainly being that the OPI has more gold sparkle in it, really making it Christmas-y, and that "Ruby Pumps" has a more jelly like finish, they are very very similar.

NOTW: "Cute As A Button" Essie

NOTW: "Cute As A Button" by Essie

This is much more red in person. It's more of a pinky-red coral than just a straight coral that comes up in the photo above.
It's kind of sheer, so I had to do 4 coats. It's super smooth and not fussy to work with.
It's very summery. I have it on my toes too and it's a very nice toe color :]
As the name implies, it's very cute!

Fall 2010 Nail Polish Picks

I have my fall nail polish picks for you guys! It has been a while since I have posted a video or blog post... my school just started on Monday and before that all of the summer scheduling for work ended so things have been super hectic for the last week and a half. I settled my whole schedule for the fall though so I can now start focusing back on trying to get posts up for you guys!

I do have one quick complaint before I get into everything though... this new outlining system for blogger is SO confusing. It's frustrating! I just can figure stuff out and align things and it was much simpler before... the only handy thing about it is there is now a break button so the rest of the post can be seen under a link. But that's about it.

Anyways... before the fall polishes, I have just a few polishes I hauled but hadn't photographed yet so that's in there too. This is just one giant polish post so enjoy!
