I meant to post these all as individual collections way long ago, but I got caught up in a million things and thus, they're now being posted as one GIANT Zoya Spring & Summer nail polish post.
Way back in January, Zoya released their Spring Collection, the Intimate Collection. I originally didn't think I wanted any of them, but then as swatches came out I slowly started wanting them more and more and then the International Women Appreciation Day sale came along and it was impossible to resist.
In the beginning of April, Zoya had a BOGO sale for their Summer collections, Sunshine, Summertime and Mod Matte. I didn't like any of the Mod Matte shades (since I have a matte top coat I figured I could just make matte versions of the shades I do have, which are really similar to the Mod Matte shades), so I did BOGO for the Sunshine and Summertime collections.
Zoya Nail Polish can be purchased on their website and are $7 each. For each purchase over $30, $50 and $100 there's a free gift, and every purchase over $50 gets free shipping. Zoya polishes are Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate and Camphor free and are Vegan friendly. I'm going to start with the Intimate Collection, since it came out first. Then the Sunshine and Summer time collections will follow below.
Gemma is an olive green with a very cool blue/purple flash. It's pretty opaque. 2 coats is clearly enough to get a good duochrome flash. There really isn't another color like this in my collection. I think Zoya does great duochromes, seeing as that Adina is one of my favorites. It's an unexpected but very likeable color combination as well.
Jules is a very delicate champagne shimmer. It reminds me a lot of Honesty eye shadow by Mac. It has a really neutral sandy brown color, with a gold shimmer mixed in. The shimmer particles are quite big, making it seem like that Lustre eye shadow finish that Mac does. I would use 3 coats with this because it can go on sheer.
Dove is a dove grey creme. It's a little warmer than the standard dove grey that I would refer to. It's not as beige as Playa del Platinum by Essie, therefore making it a definite grey color. It's opaque in 2 coats.
Marley is a very soft pinky-lilac color with a soft white pearl to it. The white pearl is very delicate as well. This one is also opaque in 2 coats. I like that Zoya did a pastel without going starkly pastel creme like most companies do for the spring. I think the slight pearl mixed in makes the color a little softer and a little more wearable for those that don't like creme finishes.
Caitlin is a greyish purple/blue. It's on my purple wheel, but there's quite a bit of blue in it. This one is also opaque in 2 coats. It's definitely not a color that I'd pick for spring. Actually, neither are Gemma or Jules. This is standardly more of a fall color for me. It reminds me of suede. I like the color though.
Dannii is a warm purple with a gold shimmer. It's sort of a "meh" color for me. I don't actually love the purple and gold combination. It does give for a nice spring color because of the warmth. It's opaque in 2 coats as well.
Zoya's Sunshine collection is one of 3 they released for this summer. I absolutely fell in love with them just from the swatches on various blogs because well it's very reminiscent of my FAVORITE collection from Zoya, and possibly of all time, the Zoya Sparkle Collection.
All the colors are very wearable, but then super amped up with a beautiful gold glass fleck glitter. I'm in love with them. Not as much as the Sparkle collection, but still very much in love with them. I certainly can't wait to start wearing them when it starts getting sunnier because they're going to look AMAZING in the sunshine.
Reva is a reddish magenta with a beautiful gold shimmer in it. It's not close to Smitten with Mittens by OPI or Ruby Pumps by China Glaze. It's more on the line of the OPI Burlesque color Let Me Entertain You or Zoya Alegra from Sparkle. It's a little on the sheer side so 3 coats is perfect.
Kimmy is a red jelly with gold shimmer. It's not at all like Nidhi from Sparkle last year, which was a red creme with gold shimmer in it (and therefore didn't fit in with the Sparkle collection at all). Again, this is similar to one of the OPI Burlesque shimmers, Ali's Big Break. They're not dupes though. This is also perfect in 3 coats.
Kimmy on the left, Reva on the right, so you can see the shimmer up close.
Rica is an orangey pink color. Like a pinky-salmon. The gold shimmer makes it look a little warmer than it actually is. It's very springy and very flowery. This is again more on the sheer side so 3 to 4 coats is needed.
Tanzy was surprisingly one of my favorites. I don't lean towards oranges ever. This one is just so pretty though! It's a tangerine orange with gold shimmer. It's perfect for summer. I can't wait to wear it. 3 to 4 coats.
Apple is a cool green with gold shimmer. I wanted it to be my favorite, because of the name and the color but it lost out to Tanzy. It's almost the same base color as Ivanka from the Sparkle collection but that was just a little bit cooler. 3 coats was good for this one.
Faye is really similar to Dannii, but way better. I think it's because there's more shimmer. 3 coats for this one is good. In some lights the gold shimmer makes it look a little brown. Which I like. Again, I think it makes it way better than Dannii, even though they're almost the same.
Summertime is the other collection that I purchased from Zoya's Summer collections. This one consists of all creme finishes. I think Zoya did another all creme finish collection last year for summer too. In general, Zoya's creme finish polishes are always smooth and pretty pigmented.
I vaguely new a Tamsen once. And this is not a color that I would associate with her. Anyways, this is a brick red creme. It's a little more orange/brown in real life. My camera has the hardest time capturing reds. Because it's got that slight orangey/brownness to it it's not a red that I'm going to pick that often, but it's a nice option to have. I know one day I'm going to crave the color.
Areej (which is an interesting name. Pretty.) is a summery mid-toned pink. Very bright. Petal-y. It's not a typical "petal pink" (obviously). It reminds me a lot of flower petals. And lipstick.
Kieko is a warm purple creme. Reminds me a log of Pamplona Purple by OPI, but they're not dupes. It's gorgeous but not terribly unique I'm afraid.
Mira is the name of one of the old people I made in the Sims. Thus, it's not a color I'd associate with the name Mira. But, since Mira wasn't a real person, I guess it doesn't matter? Lol. Anyways it's a darker, bluer purple than Kieko. I like purples like this, even though they're impossible to capture accurately on film. It's closer to the bottle picture. It's not as dark as the swatch picture. This is a color that would be great to Konad over as well. Good basic purple creme.
I feel like Breezi isn't really a girl's name. Kind of like Tanzy. Tanzy just reminds me of Tangerine. Breezi just reminds me of "breezy summer day" which is the point I guess. It's a nice sky blue creme. The sky blue that happens in deep summer, at the mid-afternoon point when you're just starting to get tired but are having too much fun to care. That color. You all know what I'm talking about. It's a great summer color as well, and definitely something I'd Konad over.
