Mac Bloggers' Obsessions

It's every blogger's dream to collaborate with a company like Mac - everybody has at one point thought to themselves "If I had creative control over something....", well that dream came true for 9 well-known beauty bloggers as they got to create their own eye shadow or lipgloss.
Temptalia, yes the famous Temptalia, was selected to be one of them and shared her experience on her blog. Probably the most buzzed about product, her eye shadow she created called "Jealousy Wakes" is one of 4 eye shadows that was released in the very limited, online exclusive collection by Mac.
The other 3 eye shadows, and the 5 lipglasses released were creations brought forth by other bloggers that are all equally individual and special.
For me, I really was only interested in 2 other shadows, "Parisian Skies" - a navy blue created by Lesley of Lipstick Powder n' Paint, which was inspired by Monet and his use of color in the painting "La Promenade, La Femme à l'ombrelle", and "Hocus Pocus" - a sooty dark taupe, created by Lianne of The Makeup Girl, which was inspired by the search of a perfect easy smokey eye color.
All three eye shadows are not only unique but are also very easy to use - pigmented, wearable and versatile.
More photos and swatches after the jump!

Temptalia wrote about her desire to create a perfect emerald green shadow and well, she totally delivered. This color is a deep, gorgeous, emerald green. It really does look gem like. It has a slight silvery and teal-y sheen to it. In different lighting it can look much more green and in some it can lean a little blue.
The best part is that it's pigmented. It doesn't need to be run over a few times to really get the color going. The veluxe pearl finish helps I think.

The shimmer is somewhat visible in the pan - you can tell it's not a matte finish but you can't really tell how the shimmer will translate onto the eyes after it's applied.
The swatches show you and idea of how the shimmer translates. The photo on the left is just in natural light indoors. The photo in the middle is in a sun beam through a window, but still inside. It was early evening in this photo. The photo on the right is what was on my finger after swatching - the sheen is much clearer here than in the regular swatches.

Parisian Skies is very very close to the color in the inspiration shot Lesley sent to Mac (which you can see in the link that I posted above in this post). It's a dusty navy blue with a very slight lighter blue sheen to it.
The shimmer sheen is much more evident in the swatches than in the pan. This was surprisingly my second favorite. It was unexpectedly beautiful in person.
This one is also very pigmented, which is pleasing because sometimes satins can be a little thin.

As I said before, Lianne's goal was to create a color that was the perfect smokey eye color. Mission accomplished. This is a sooty, grey taupe with a beautiful gold shimmer in it. The shimmer again doesn't show up in the pan but on the skin it just illuminates wonderfully. Then in the light? It's even more spectacular.
Another one of Lianne's goals was to create a color that would look good on every skin tone. I think this may be too dark for the super pale group but otherwise, it'd work marvelously on everybody.
For me I could see myself using this in the crease for a slightly darker neutral eye look - not exactly smokey but... sultry. This is definitely the most versatile color of the colors I purchased.
There was one other shadow, which was a warmer brown with a slight shimmer as well... also versatile but not the most unique color.
