NOTW: Claire's Mood Polish Peaceful/Confident

Boy oh boy has it been a while since I've done a NOTW.
Mostly because I had the Sally Hansen strips on and then after I had this and then I went to a cotillion and had a manicure and then I changed it to what I have now and all the while I didn't photograph any of it properly.
Well I photographed this, but you know what I mean.
This is one of Claire's Mood Polishes (or color changing, depending on the temperature). I decided to take full advantage of the fact that I had long nails (long for me anyways) and try out the Mood polishes just to get the "funky french" sort of effect that is so popular with these polishes.
Peaceful/Confident goes from a bright shamrock green to a slightly teal/turquoise creme. The sticker makes it look like the colors are more blue but really, after wearing them for about a week, it's really more of a green base.
In warmer temperatures, the color is the greener color. It's actually very similar to China Glaze's Four Leaf Clover. In cooler temperatures it's a more teal, turquoise color. You can see the color shift on my nails in the photo above.
The polish dries to a slightly matte, suede like finish so a top coat is needed if you'd like. It's rather opaque, but also thin at the same time. Hard to explain... sort of like a flower petal?
I used Nubar's base coat, and the Seche Vite top coat. This manicure lasted without chipping for like 2 days, then I had it on my nails for a couple of days after that. I didn't work at all during those 2 days though. Taking that into consideration, I think it's not as durable is an OPI, China Glaze, "Standard Nail Polish".
These can be purchased at Claire's, but the overhead company that makes these distributes them to Hot Topic as well as other stores like that. They range from $4 to $6.

  1. I always stop by at Claire's when I have the chance but I feel like my skin color doesn't go well with their crazy colors!
