On a recent trip to Ulta, I picked up three brights that totally put me in the mood for Spring! Although California really needs the rain, and I love the rain, all my pretty flowers are blooming and I'm ready for a little sun, or at least some brightness.
The three colors I picked up were reddish pink tones and I adore them :) I mentioned these in a recent haul video, in case you missed it - check out my channel if you haven't! There's a link at the top of my blog.
Since I took the photos of the swatches indoors under fluorescent lighting, the colors are a little off. The true color of the polishes are closer to the bottle shots than the swatches, but they're still close, nonetheless.
The polishes I picked up were:
- Essie Hip-Anema - reddish orange, with a slight coral feel to it. It's opaque in 2 coats. I did recently wear this, and it does stain the nails, so just keep that in mind. It's a gorgeous color though, and I'm totally in love with it so I'm probably not going to get rid of it any time soon. The staining will just have to be dealt with lol. The swatch is pretty color accurate.
- China Glaze Rose Among Thorns - neon pink that has more red tones than yellow tones. It's opaque in three thin coats. To get a good shine, a top coat will be needed since it dries matte, like most neons do. The swatch is a little more red than in real life.
- OPI Live.Love.Carnival - part of the new Brazil line for spring, it's a coral pink creme with orange tones to it. It's opaque in two coats and glides on amazingly. The swatch is much more red than in person. In person it's definitely a pink.
Are there any colors that you're super into this spring? I got into these tones after watching some Kardashian episodes, and Kourtney (my favorite of the bunch for her crass honesty and surprisingly good mothering skills, and well, Scott) had her nails painted these types of shades for basically an entire season. I had to seek all the bright polishes to fill that need, so there's why these all came home with me haha.
As I mentioned before, I bought all of these at Ulta, and I know the Brazil colors will be available for a while, but the other two are permanent.
Let me know what your favorite spring shades are!
