Butter London Cheeky Chops | Swatches & Review

Happy July 1st! Happy Canada Day! Here's a polish that has nothing to do with Canada lol.
Butter London's Cheeky Chops is a bright, banana yellow creme. Of the yellow polishes I've read about and seen on the internet, I think Cheeky Chops get's the most attention and has the best reputation for formula, color and performance.
Hopefully all these people's bottles are better than mine is because mine is really sort of awful.
Color wise, it is definitely unique in the world of yellow polishes. It's not pastel, and is very close to a primary yellow. It's not a jelly either, it's a full on creme polish. Aside from the fact that I sort of really dislike this shade of yellow on me, it definitely gets due credit for being a unique color.
Formula wise though, it was pretty terrible. It went on streaky, and started to get real thick if you layered it more than twice on the nail. It didn't smooth out all that well, even with a top coat. This is the second or third time I've used this polish, so it really shouldn't have been an issue of the polish starting to dry out, but some of my other Butter London polishes have started to thicken (I haven't had most of them for longer than a year and a half) so it may be a flaw in the company's formula as a whole.
Would I recommend this polish to people? Nope. Unless you happen to really like this shade on your skintone and are willing to deal with the formula, I'd say steer clear of it. It's a good color for nail art, but I don't know if it's quite worth the price tag just to buy it for nail art.
Butter London is available at Ulta, Nordstrom and other stores that sell department store products.
Do you have a favorite yellow polish you recommend? Let me know in the comments!
